Autumn and Halloween Fun in Ms Leahy’s Junior Infants

The boys and girls in Ms Leahy’s class have been learning about the season of Autumn. We have learned that the leaves begin to fall off the trees and the colours of the leaves are red, yellow, orange and brown. We have been singing a song called “Autumn Leaves are Falling Down” to help us to remember these facts about Autumn. We created our own Autumn trees using red and orange paint and dabbing them on our page using cotton wool. They look amazing.

We have also been discussing Halloween, what we are dressing up as, and we read a funny story called “Winnie the Witch” who used her magic to help to see her cat Wilbur. We have been getting in the Halloween spirit by decorating Winnie the Witch’s hat, and we created our own pumpkins using orange paint, paper plates, googly eyes and paper for the mouth and teeth. We have been very busy over the last few weeks!
