Playing in the School Garden

We are very lucky to have a beautiful new school garden with astro-turf grass, large building toys and a big game of connect 4! It has been brilliant to get to use this space with our friends everyday and we really enjoy it!

All About Antarctica!

 For the month of January we have been learning all about Antarctica. We have been examining pictures of the cold weather and snow that they experience there. We have learned about Emperor penguins and sea lions that live there too. Our Aistear play has been all about Antarctica too, where we have been in character as penguins and sea lions, created igloos out of playdough, cut and stuck some snowmen and together and created igloos and icebergs out of lego. It has been lots of fun!

Happy New Year and Welcome Back!

 

Happy New Year and welcome back to all of the boys and girls and their families. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas, it is great to be back in school. 

Just a few reminders that we have PE on Tuesdays and Wednesdays so if the children wear their tracksuit on those days that would be great. 

Also we are working on independence skills this term so practising putting on and taking off coats will be great, as well as zipping up coats and bags, opening and closing lunchboxes, oranges, bananas etc..

The theme for the month of January is the weather and we are focusing on the weather in Antarctica.
