This week we were discussing the type of clothes that we wear when it is Winter time and the weather becomes more cold, windy and rainy. We used our collage technique to glue and stick different coloured paper to design our own Winter hats and mittens. They turned out lovely!
We did an experiment using skittles, where we sorted them by colour: yellow, red, orange, green and purple. We placed them in our groups around a plate. Then we discussed what would happen if we poured water on top of them, we wondered if they would change or stay the same. We poured the water on and could not believe our eyes, the dye from the skittles came out of the water and created a rainbow on our plate. It was amazing!
We also discussed and examined the difference between solids and liquids, and what would happen to a solid if it was melted. We tested this out and made rice krispie buns by melting chocolate which made it soft and liquid. We stirred in the rice krispies and enjoyed eating them when they were finished. They were delicious!
