We have been celebrating St. Patrick and Ireland for the month of March. We have learned all about who St. Patrick was and why he is so special to Ireland. We also have been using lots of words we know in Irish for Seachtain na Gaeilge, as well as songs and dancing. We have created our own Irish flags and we had a lovely party too. We had a big Céilí in the yard with the other classes in the school where we showed our moves to our dance "Cuir bróg ar an asal."
We took part in Engineers Week in school. We got involved in lots of activities that had different aspects of engineering in them. We made different structures such as houses, towers, apartments and buildings using mini-marshmallows and spaghetti. We tested the speed of a balloon when it is tapped both hard and gently to see which force helps it to travel a longer distance. We participated in an experiment with Ms Moran's class using diet coke and mentos to see what would happen when they are mixed together. There was a big explosion which was really cool!

We went on a Spring walk on a beautiful morning to spot all of the signs of Spring around our school. We saw lovely colours of leaves growing on the trees, the green grass, saw and heard birds singing and saw fluffy clouds in the blue sky!
We had a lovely day for Pancake Tuesday, we decorated our own delicious pancakes with marshmallows, chocolate sauce and sprinkles. It was a very tasty afternoon!
We had a week full of love, kindness and friendship for our Kindness Week. We created our very special door of kindness using paint, love hearts, the sun as kindness grows in our class. We got to look at all of the other decorated doors all around our school too. We also decorated a love heart for a friend in our class on our whole school kindness tree. It was a great week and we even won a prize for being so kind to everyone in our class.
